Lagos - Super Eagles coach Stephen
Keshi has refuted claims he's at
loggerheads with Chelsea of England
midfielder, John Obi Mikel.
The 'Big Boss' excluded the 28-year
old from Nigeria's team for next
weekend's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifier against Chad in Kaduna,
and the Super Eagles gaffer says he
has no problems with Mikel.
"I don't have any issues with him
(Mikel)," Keshi told News24 Nigeria.
"He's still a part of us and he will
come when we need him," Keshi
said.
It was reported that Keshi has had
some misunderstanding with Mikel,
with several reports quoting the 'Big
Boss' as saying he tried to reach
Mikel with the Chelsea man
rebuffing his advances.
But Keshi tells News24 Nigeria why
he has left the midfielder out.
"I just don't need Mik (Mikel) for
this match," he explains.
"That is why we didn't bring him in
but we will when we need him," he
said.
