Lawmaker tasked on purposeful representation

The Warri Progressive Forum, WPF, has urged the member representing Warri South, I, Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mrs Omawumi Udoh to key into the SMART Agenda of the Delta State government so as to better the lives her constituents.
The WPF, which was the campaign organisation of Udoh urged Udoh to see her victory at the Court of Appeal as call to further work towards the deepening of democracy in Nigeria.
Addressing newsmen in Warri, Spokesperson of the group and Special Adviser, News Media to Delta State governor, Mr. Michael Tidi said: “We are pleased to offer our most sincere congratulations upon Hon. Omawumi Udoh’s historic oath-taking as the Honorable Member representing Warri South 1, Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
”Warri South youths and elders alike are happy with this development because the upholding of her mandate by the appellate court was a ruling grounded in solid legal precedence and jurisprudence. At least just for once, our faith in Nigeria’s judiciary has been restored, even though we still believe that branch of government needs to be reorganized and better still sanitized.
”We hope that she will be quite humbled by the tortuous electoral journey she went through and cannot afford to conduct the business of legislation without regard for the genuine feelings of her constituents.''
We equally commend her for raising the bar of politics in Warri South LGA, as her victory has shown that she is a woman of exceptional determination with great reserves of personal courage and wisdom.
“What we her supporters find to be even more heartwarming is the fact that our efforts have not been in vain, as our faith in her was not misplaced after all.
“We find it remarkable, that she has a sturdy determination to keep pace with the S.M.A.R.T Agenda of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, by making robust contributions in the hallow chamber that would take on our socio-economic, political and technological challenges.”
