Hon. Ayekeme Masa, the Former Bayelsa Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industry under the firt tenure administration of Governor Seriake Dickson has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Yenagoa,the  state capital.
The shooting and death of the former Bayelsa State Commissioner, Ayakeme Masa, is coming few days after a reporter attached to the State Government House was shot and he survived the ugly attack from a suspected armed robber.
Atakeme Masa, 64 years old and father of three, was shot in the early hours of Sunday  in his residence along Plam Avenue behind the popular Bolex lounge in the state capital.
Leadership gathered that the killers of the deacesed former commissioner‎ were in his sitting room having an undisclosed arguement with his wife
‎When he arrived home,”he walked into the arguement between his wife and the unknown gunmen. He tried to escape from the building before he was shot.”
One of the security men on duty in his house was heared later screeming that he heared the shots and came out of his cubicle to meet the injured body of his boss outside the gate.
Leadership gathered that Ayakeme Masa was ru‎shed to the Federal Medical Centre and he died on Monday evening from the gun shots wound.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa State‎ Police Command, Asimin Butswat, confirmed the incident
‎Said the team of policemen from the command have visited the scene and commence investigation into the incident.
